
Google also unveiled several new agentic commerce capabilities in Google Search today, including Universal Cart, an expanded Universal Commerce Protocol, and the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2). In addition, Google’s Shopping Graph has grown to 60 billion product listings, up from 50 billion earlier this year, according to Vidhya Srinivasan, VP/GM Ads & Commerce. Universal Cart. Google introduced what it calls Universal Cart, a single Google cart where you can place products from multiple retailers and then check out for all of them at once using Google Wallet with a single click. While browsing in Google Search, you can add products straight into your Google Universal Cart without visiting each retailer’s site individually. This experience will span Google Search, Gemini, YouTube and Gmail, so you can keep adding items across Google surfaces and merchants, and the cart will preserve your selections. Google also said Universal Cart will “anticipate your needs and help solve problems before they [arise].” For example, Google explained: “Say you’re building your first custom PC and add a few parts from several retailers to your cart. Your cart will proactively flag any product incompatibilities and suggest alternatives. Since the cart was built on Google Wallet, it understands your payment method perks, loyalty information and merchant offers…”
